Half-Day Seminars with Eoin Stephens

The Art of CBT

 Venue: Mindology, 1 Chapel Mews, Chapel Lane, Sallins, Co. Kildare

This half-day discussion seminar provides an opportunity to explore the reality of CBT in practice with a small group of fellow practitioners.

There will be some input and facilitation, and client examples will be looked at.

Maximum group size 5 (to allow for discussion).

Working with Low Self-Esteem - Eoin Stephens

This workshop will present a Cognitive Behavioural Case Formulation Approach to Low Self-Esteem.

Topics will include:

  • The Cognitive Behavioural Model of how Low Self-Esteem is learned and maintained
  • Working with Anxious Predictions, Self-Criticism, & Self-Protective Behaviours
  • Identifying underlying Core Beliefs/Bottom Lines

Motivational Cognitive Therapy for Problematic Sexual Behaviours - Eoin Stephens

This workshop will approach problems with pornography, web cams, massage parlours, etc using a framework combining Motivational Interviewing, Evolutionary Psychology & CBT.

Topics will include:

  • Exploring a client’s ambivalent motivation
  • Cognition & the Addiction Cycle
  • Involving partners, where appropriate

Working with Low Self-Esteem – Eoin Stephens

This workshop presents Cognitive Behavioural Case Formulation Approach to Low Self-Esteem.

Topics include:

  • The Cognitive Behavioural Model of how Low Self-Esteem is learned and maintained
  • Working with Anxious Predictions, Self-Criticism, & Self-Protective Behaviours
  • Identifying underlying Core Beliefs

Working with Asperger’s Syndrome – Eoin Stephens

This workshop presents a Cognitive Behavioural Case Formulation Approach to the problems of adult clients at the higher end of the Autism Spectrum.

Topics include:

  • The nature of the autistic personality, and the relevance of this for Cognitive Behavioural therapy
  • Working with Distorted Social Information Processing
  • Secondary problems, especially Anxiety, Depression, Anger & Addiction

Working with Generalised Anxiety & Panic

This workshop presents a Case Formulation Approach to Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Panic Disorder.

Topics include:

  • Differentiating between different Anxiety Disorders
  • The Cognitive Behavioural Models of GAD & Panic Disorder
  • Appropriate CBT interventions e.g. Postponing Worry, Behavioural Experiments, etc

Workshops are held in The Osprey Hotel, Naas, and in other venues in Kildare & Dublin.
