“I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better” – Maya Angelou

In essence, we only know, what we know, when we know it! Despite our best efforts, we aren’t always able to see, understand or accept what we’re experiencing at any given point in time. Instead, we struggle against our reality and try to cope by resisting, avoiding, hiding, controlling or denying it. It’s tough and it’s a universal experience for us all.

For me, therapy is a way to navigate through this wilderness; to make sense of “what is” and find new ways of coping with our reality. To sit with someone and talk through your difficulties, without the fear of judgement, criticism or rejection, can be a liberating and enlightening experience, which can bring about change and growth.

As a therapist, this is what I aim to provide for my clients; by drawing upon a variety of tools, techniques and therapeutic modalities, such as Person-Centred
Therapy, CBT, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Positive Psychology and Mindfulness,

I will work to help you:

    • identify and explore your issues,
    • process the difficult emotions which they invoke,
    • reframe and widen your perspective and
    • nurture self-compassion and acceptance.

I work with clients over the age of 18 and have experience dealing with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem and -confidence, family and relationship issues, narcissistic abuse, neurodivergence, alcohol related issues and co-dependence, grief and loss, loneliness, and self-development.

If you’d like to talk, please get in touch. I’d love to hear from you.

“Owning our story can be hard, but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it.”
